Yeah so my girlfriend wants to go ice skating. Of course I said sure lets go. Only one problem, I’ve only been ice skating like once in my entire life. Any body out there I could use some tips. Any help would be great.

  1. Make sure that you lace your skates well, and wear gloves, a t-shirt, jacket, gloves, thin nylon or polyester socks, knit exercise type pants (if you wear jeans they will get wet and cold very quickly). I would suggest using your arms for balance, and try to march into a glide on the ice, and just have fun!

  2. bend ur knees, make sure ur skates are tight, oh, n have fun =D

  3. Before you even get on the ice, make sure your skates are tied tightly in the ankle area.   You want the most support there.  If your ankles are turning in or you're having a hard time staying on top of your blades, you probably need more ankle support.

Once you get on the ice, stick close to the wall so you can hang on if you need to.  Try to stay off of your toes and use small marching steps.  Holding your arms out for balance can be helpful too.  Once you feel a little more confident, try pushing using the sides of your blades, like you would push in rollerblades....again, stay off of your toes.  A little knee bend is also helpful too.  After a few laps, you'll get the hang of it.

  4. Can you rollerblade? Then you can ice skate

    Proven fact

I can ice skate better than I can rollerblade

Never thought possible but its true, Believe Me!

  5. 1. Always make sure your gear is tight(that means skates and stuff)

    2. Its like gliding on ice so don't think its not slippery

    3. Push your feet out to stop, turn your skates the direction you want to turn in that direction.
