Question:

How to ignore aggressive workers?

I think the guy who works with us may have an attention deficit or he pretends to have have one. He is hard to be around since he is constantly interrupting conversations, talks loud, is brash, and is constantly late to work. How can I avoid him in a small office or better communicate with him? If I ignore him then his sympathetic friend will ask me why. She defends him no matter how rude he is to everyone but her.

  1. Ignore him the best you can, it is none of his sympathetic friends business and she shouldn't have to defend him.  Not everyone gets along as freinds, just keep it business.  Don't be afraid to tell him either, be upfront if something about him is bother you maybe he'll change.  If it gets worse let him know that you're going to talk to mgt. if it continues. No job is fun or worth it if you're not happy.  Good luck.

  2. Gain a attitude with him for no reason. make him not want to talk to you. If he says something to you just simply say I am working and I have had a bad day so please leave me alone keep that attitude for a few days and then he will catch on... or everything that he says say things like that's stupid, or I don't agree, or what were you thinking, be kinda rude and he will not want to talk. If his friend at work wants to say anything about it tell her frankly you can't stand him and if that is a problem she can go hang out with him and stay away from yo to.

  3. Ignore what you can and be as concise as possible with everything else. If he's rude tell him so if it's towards you. When he's loud and it's disruptive to your work let him know, if it continues speak with your supervisor. His being late to work should have no bearing on you but if it does again talk to your supervisor if his not being there is preventing you from doing what you need to do, otherwise ignore that too. Tell his sympathetic friend that you're too busy right now. Ignore her too if necessary.

  4. Just tell the sympathetic friend honestly how you feel and maybe she will talk to him.

    Thanks for asking.

  5. Just keep saying a few words like: yeah, good, yup, great, alright, okay. Don't ignore, that won't look good at all.

    Hope this helps
