How to import Pictures Fastest!?

I have a Canon Digital Rebek XTI and a Compact Flash 4 gig memory card and i was wondering with alot of pictures what would be fast to import them using a card reader or using the usb cord?

Via the card reader is the fastest method, provided you card reader is USB 2.0 and not USB 1.0 or 1.1.

The absolutely fastest is using the new ExpressCard/54.  I can transfer files at nearly 3gb/sec.  USB 2.0 runs at 480mb/sec and firewire at 400mb/sec.

The deal with Canon DSLR's is in order to use the USB cord, you have to be running the Canon software ... with a card reader, you can use the computers file manager to do that for you while you are off shooting using a different card (when shooting in your studio)
