  1. A back spin is when you hit it and it goes off of the tips of you fingers and then spins..........

    8^P

  2. Just keep praticing and you will get better..my 2nd year playing i had to do over hand for the first time and my arm hurt sooo bad..but i kept trying and this year i was the best server on my team and it was my 3rd year. Just practice alot and you will get a whole lot better. but if you still cant serve over hand on your game just do it under hand while you are still practicing on the over hand.

    well i hope i helped!

  3. What kind of serve?

    Overhand?

    Underhand?

    Side Arm?

    If you would like help.

Please tell me which and i can help.

I am a volleyball player and i can almost help anything.

  4. Just keep practicing motion and hitting. If you get good, you can jump and hit ball in mid-air.

  5. practice. practice. & practice :]

    push-ups will up to.

i was on a school volleyball team too, and the year before that i couldnt get my serves over. but i kept practicing and practicing.

    and it helped a lot!!!!

    trust me, practice does work:)

  6. 1. get at least a foot behind the out of bounds line so you dont get a foot fault.

    2. loosly toss the ball about 2 or 3 feet in the air.

    3. take a step

    4. make sure your arm is fully extended.

    5. hit the ball with all the power you have in the center of your hand.

    6. then repeat about a thousand times.

i swear those exact steps helped me :)

hope that helped... and good luck :D

  7. back spin is the kind of spin that you get when you throw a baseball. when you hit the ball with back spin and it travels away from you, the top of the ball moves so you can see it, then moves to the bottom of the ball, then away from you. toss a ball a little bit forward with backspin and it will bounce back to you.

to improve your serve, hit the ball high, and lead your swing with your elbow. use your abs when you serve so it gets more power, and makes it easier to get over the net. hit the ball with your palm for control, or try using a fist and hitting it with the flat part of your fingers on the inside part of your arm for power. also try strengthening your arm.

  8. practice by going in the gym or finding a tall wall outside the school and standing about 10 feet back.  Practice hitting the same spot on the wall...gradually move back and maintain the spot.  You don't have to hit the ball any harder...only faster.  Also, I suggest going to a summer camp.  It will really help you, having an expert critique any potential problems.  good luck!

  9. just swing away for over and for under also swing away its not that hard...

  10. alot of practice will help you

  11. Keep practicing, hit the ball and also work on other forms, like back-spin.

  12. To get a good serve, remember bow and arrow. The same motion that is used to shoot a bow and arrow is used for a serve. Throw the ball up, but not to high. Then "spring" the bow by bringing your serving hand back and snap your wrist so the serve goes over the net. Oh and practice =]

  13. Don't serve with a fist.

    Don't serve with backspin.

    Practice, practice, practice.

A good serve for a beginner is a top spin serve because it burn into your mind the kind of contact you will use most often later on.

  14. I had power but no control.  My coach made me hit a basket ball against the wall for 20 minutes every day.  The vollyball seemed lighter and I controlled it better that way.  Do what your coach says.

  15. Whatever hand you serve with make sure to keep your other hand high in the air.  When you serve hit the ball opened handed and on top.  When you serve the ball hit it at its highest point and fully extend your arm.
