Question:

How to improve a standing long jump?

I am 13 and my record jump(standing) is 9 feet 4 inches.(this is kind of bad in my opinion). What should I do to improve my standing long jump? For training I just jumped and jogged. Should I practice my landing in the sand? or run more? Is there any technique that makes me jump farther?

Any tips and tricks that can help me do a longer standing long jump ?

  1. get a wieght suit to train, it will weigh you down when jumping as well as help build muscle. and it will help improve your overall jump.

  2. Run  the long distance, jump and hope you'll land farther.

  3. Standing long jump is pretty easy. If you lift your arms as you jump and lift your knees you will have more time in the air. Always remember not to fall back or they have to count your shortest point. e.g If you jump quite far that would of course be good, but if you were to step back when you landed, you would lose some of that distance and they would have to count from where you put your foot behind you.

  4. your gross

  5. is this going to help you in life or something

  6. squat and jump with weights
