  1. I'm a self-taught player who got all my advice from magazines, videos, and the internet.  For myself, I found the volume of information to be overwhelming.  I managed my game for quite a few years with NO improvement UNTIL I took a couple of lessons.  So, I'd suggest taking lessons rather than going the route that I did.

I took my lessons a few years ago and have again developed a couple of bad habits.  I'm scheduled to take a couple of lessons again to get back on track.

  2. try the site below lots of free lessons and great pointers

  3. A lot of the golf web sites have free lessons, such as golfdigest.com, golf.com.  Also you may try golf forums such as golfrewind.com, golfwrx.com.  The members post their experiences and golf tips there.

But really taking tips from everywhere may actually be bad for your swing.  Depending on where your swing is at now, and what your problems are, as well as type of your swing (one plane/ two planes), not all tips are applicable.  Thus if you don't know what you need and try to apply those tips, they will actually ruin your swing.

Try going to a golf instructor, if you're serious about your game, or at least are interested in improving, get the basic from one instructor.  Like building a house, the foundation is very important to get right.  You can add the appliances later on bit by bit.

  4. You can go on you tube and type in the name shawn clement. He has a ton of videos. He explains everything very well, very easy to understand. I am a scratch golfer and still learn a lot from him. So i would check him out.

  5. golf tips magazine has video podcasts that are pretty good.

  6. You need to see a golf pro until you get the feel for the golf swing.  Until then, most written instruction will be counter-productive and confusing.

After you get the feel down, Golf Magazine has some terrific tutorials on their website, as does the Golf Channel.  If you have digital cable, Sportskool and Sports Illustrated On Demand have videos you can watch.
