How to improve in Basketball games? ?

I play basketball well,

but in games it goes somewhere else completely.

When im playing or doing drills by myself I seem to be fine and i hit my shots.

But when a defender is in my face,

for some reason I end of shuffling my feet.

Anyways to help me avoid that?

  1. its all confidence. I use to have the same problem. i would always win the shooting drills (i am a center too) but in the game i wouldn't shoot it. I would be afraid to shoot it, and when i got the ball i didn't do any moves i just shot it without thinking. I was fixed by my coach who sat down with me and told me that i was the shooter on the team, and that if i didn't get a certain amount of shots in we would have to run, alot. Your problem is just confidence, go out on the court with a chip on your sholder.

  2. The only way to improve is to keep playing against people you don't know. Try going against big people. It will help you improve your game.

  3. play more 2 on 2 games it will improve ur shot and also have a drill when u shoot with i guy in ur face.  i play professionally in europe and am thinking of trying out for the utah jazz or detroit pistons.  i play for Olympiacos BC

  4. practicepracticepractice and confidence

  5. the same thing happens to me, you need to just let everything go except basketball. Try listening to the same song over and over and over again before a game, this way the song is in your head. If you have that song your fear of missing, or whatever it is that makes it so you stuff, should just melt away.

I know, how can it work. But it does. When playing BBall, you have to have a clear mind, and focus souly on basketball. Thats why a song will keep you focused.

Play games with friend to build confedence before you play in a real game.

    GOOD LUCK

  6. Well work more on that part of your game, and you need more self-confidence.
