Also, try to use strong, specific words that describe what you want to say. Don't tell what you want to say, show it. For example, look at this sentence with good words: "She spat her final accusation at him before abruptly turning and storming out of the room." See how the words you choose can make the sentence more powerful? More interesting? Compare that to simply saying: "She was mad." Same meaning but the 1st sentence is clearly better. Try using good, descriptive words. Good luck.

The best way is to talk w/someone who speaks English...get a pen pal...I have recently been speaking with someone from Italy, and I am starting to learn Italian. Email back and forth, and maybe talk to the person if you can, so you can hear the accent...

I second the IEW recommendation...it's the best program that I've seen yet.  

Also, read - a lot.  Listen to audio books and make good friends with your librarian.  They'll be able to recommend books that will help you.

Read books that are written with proper grammar. I personally enjoy Charles Dickens and Alexander Dumas.

Then, to practice writing correctly, try to write a summary of the things you've read, or write a summary of the things you've read in the newspaper. You can even practice by keeping a journal of your day to day activities.
