  1. a .270 is a rifle.this just the beginning to a made up story.you never said if the rifle had a scope or at what distance you were shooting.

  2. Use both hands

  3. dear...

belive me u shoot very good... but when u start to ask urself... how to improve it u lose self confidence then u lose ability.

anyway u must know... the most common 2 mistakes shootrs do that make them lose target :

1- hold ur breathing when u aim. do not breath while u aim and shoot.

2- DO NOT close ur eyes when u pull treger, maybe u do not feel it but u must control it..the moment u pull treger maybe u close eye.

oh by the way remember : the moment u see target setup with ur aiming... this second shoot immdeiately... do not keep aiming...adjusting... coming back to it... just when u hold the gun strong, hold breath... and u see the target on aiming, pull treger immdietaly and do not close eyes. u will have it 100%

  4. The same way you would hold and fire a slug gun. Breath control, trigger control, aiming cycle and so on. If you dont know any of this then i would suggest in coaching at your local gun club, these skills are the fundamentals of shooting dude weather your in Iraq shooting a .50cal or at your backyard with your air daisy bb gun shooting paper plates.

A .270 or the 7mm is a big round dude not an easy round to master, kicks hard and is tough on the ears. They use the .270 for taking big game and is used by the Police and Military for Sniping.

I would suggest if you are new to shooting and have never fired anything you should sell that gun of yours and get something smaller, like a .22 and get good with that first.

Shooting from the prone position is actually the most stable supported position so your accuracy problem cannot come from there. If i am wrong and you are a decent shooter the i would suggest a few things.

1 Clean the rifle entirely, scrub that bore clean and have a decent gun smith inspect the trigger and the overall condition of the rifle. When i say decent i mean a registered / certified gunsmith.

    2. Make sure the scope if you use one is mounted properly, check the focus and eye relief. Check the rings, mounts and the screws, DO NOT use any loctite, this is a bad habbit as it teaches you not to inspect the screws. You should be checking your rifle evertime you shoot and after shooting.

    3. Check the bedding and the action screws are torqued up properly

    4. Experiment with the ammo, ammo behave diffrently on every gun, i own a .308 and it only likes certain brands

    5. Check the stock if its faulty then your action will be sitting off center

    6. If the gun smith says your rifle is ok then it must be you that is causing the inacuracy. 99% of guns even the cheap ones will always outshoot the shooter at any given day.

    Good luck

  5. There is always the issue of talent, however a great deal of experience and determination are a good substitute.

Anyhow its a bit hard to give any great advice when your not in person. I am actually a very active shooter, and have help plenty of people through the basics. However i feel that is more that usless if you can't be in person.

Only things that i can really tell you on here is that you have to make sure you have agood sight body alignment. Its a popular phrase, look it up for some pictures. Also siceyour focusing on prone only the get a bipod, it takes the work out of shooting. However if your looking to shoot compititions then your probably not going to be able to use one of those, most only allow slings.

Another thing to watch out for is jerking the trigger, or anticipating the shot. Almost without exception if you decide when you are going to pull the trigger you give it at least a solight jerk, wich can throw your sights off. Another thing about anticipating the shot is that you probably flinch some, im not insuting you or saying your afraid of the gun, it just happens. The solution to shot anticipation is to line up the target in your sights, do you best to keep on target and slowly pull the trigger until the round fires. If you do it right, the shot should be a surprise to you. Sounds crazy I know, but I have had alot of experience and won a few matches myself, and this method really help out. Its what the marines teach their marksmen.

Anyhow other than a few basics its just tallent and practice. Good luck and have fun!
