im looking at getting a 06-07 mazda 6 (v6)... i know its pretty fast already but im looking to make it faster... i know you can get like superchargers and stuff like that to make it faster but im not willing to spend that much just for one thing... what smaller parts add little bits of horse power to the car? like im pretty sure that with the exhaust system you get better mpg and a little more horsepower (correct me if im wrong but you get the idea of what im talking about)... i just want a cheaper car (figuratively speaking) and then put some money into performance parts other than superchargers and such

  1. Those guys above really gave you bigger numbers than what you will actually get.

The Truth is, a car like that doesn't benefit too much with performance modification. You can get an exhaust, intake, and tune, and maybe add 40hp at most. You can, however, add parts to make the ride more fun, i,e, a short throw shifter, coilovers, etc... Just whatever you can afford and/or willing to spend.

And also, the guy above me said to get a throttle body spacer and intake spacer... These don't really help in your type of car. If anything, it will cause more problems, because the throttle cable may have to be lengthened.

  2. Some really easy things you can do are use performance filters (air, oil and fuel) from companies like K&N. You can also use a premium synthetic oil. Additionally, you can use platinum spark plugs (I have heard good things about E3 Diamond Fire plugs).

Things like these can add some minor power increases, increase fuel economy, and increase the longevity of your engine. Plus, they are all realativly inexpensive (and may actually save you money in the long run).

  3. Lots of options

    1. exhaust +20hp $200-300 for a good one

    2. Air Intake + 15-20hp if your lucky $200-300 for a good one as well try K&N

    3. ECU chip these can be good for 50+hp but will void warrenty and have been known to get problems! BIG problems.

    4. Do some weight reduction stock rims are VERY heavy! get a body kit for aero. get some good STICKY tires and you should have a pretty good little car!

  4. my friend has the 2007 MAZDASPEED 6...   not mazda 6..but the MAZDASPEED 6...   it has 280hp , and all wheel drive...just get that, and you wont have to put anything into it...

it beat my infiniti g35 coupe on the highway big time...

but if that doesnt work for you...

buy an exhaust, a COLD air intake, engine pulleys, throttle body spacer, manifold spacer, engine grounding kit ( ground wires )...

if all that is available for your car...all this should add to probably 50 or more horsepower....

if you like my answer...please choose it as a best answer..i really hope this helps you
