Question:

How to improve wrist strength for handstands?

I've been working on doing handstands for a couple of months. Sometime I can hold them away from the wall for a few seconds, so I'm improving, but my wrists don't seem to be keeping up. I have been trying to leave a couple of rest days in between but they still feel a little sore afterward. Sometimes I do them in the shallow end of the pool, which helps a lot but the pool will be closing for the fall soon so I won't be able to do that anymore. Any suggestions?

  1. what you need to do is wrist curls do these every 4 days

take a medium weight dumbbells and place one in each hand sit down with your wrists just in front of your knees but the rest of your ram on your leg then keeping your palms down raise you wrist so that the Palm is parallel with your torso

do 15 reps on each wrist then rest fro 2 minutes and repeat 3 more times

this will improve the strength in your wrist

  2. Okay here's what we do at gymnastics:

Take two two pound weights in each hand and move it up down east west ect. Every way 25 times. This will help. Also, make sure to stretch out your wrists before you do anything.
