How to improve xbox 360 ping?

I play call of duty 4 on the xbox 360 and on every sever i go to get i get 3 out of 4 bars in ping but recently my friend just did somthing to his xbox getting 4 bars in every server hes goes into and he is not telling me how to do it. He said he did somthing from his computer and its taking other peoples bandwidth at the same time so does anyone know how to do this?

And he did not open his xbox but he did somthing from his computer so can anyone hlep me?

he probably cleared his network, or got a new wireless router/modem

there is a lot of stuff that can interfere with that. like if you got a 2.4 GHz phone can interrupt your connection speed. Brick/stone walls can slow down your connection.

theres a whole range. from your computer theres a way to set up a "Media Extender" to your xbox and Im sure that would increase connection speed.
