Simple - read more, watch more english TV (no subtitles!) and practice a lot. If you are able to - go to an English speaking country, and spend some time there, nothing works as fast as being in a region where the language you are learning is spoken.

Why is it important?

Because, next to Chinese, English is the most spoken language around the world.
