I'd like to use my group as an informational website as well as a mailing list and group repository. How do I set the home page to include a picture, announcements, etc?

  1. Click edit beside description on your cover page, scroll down and follow the prompts to  add a photo and description. You canot put a mailing list  there, not enough room.

  2. while on your homepage- top below Activity within 7 days has this:

Description  (Edit, Add Photo) <-- are clickable links

to change or add to the description click the edit above- Description (Edit) <-- click that edit- you will see description and the text box next to it- enter content- click save changes

If you want to keep adding info here you can, only keep in mind there is only 2000 character limit, so you may have to continue to remove some text in order to add more. the 'mailing list' is actually the posts you send out to the members of your group. many groups are mailing list only as their function and if it is, many members never go to the homepage itself for the info. accouncements really should be in post form than on the homepage description.

    Photo

from home page, that same Description  (Edit, Add Photo) click add photo- instructions are pretty easy- browse for photo on your computer, once found click add now

  3. Actually the first this you see when you go to your yahoogroup is your welcome page. To add pictures, text and such there will be a very small (edit) button somewhere on the page if you are the owner. Click on that and add what you like.
