Question:

How to increase virtual memory?

What I have tried so far:

1) Used CCcleaner

2)Followed the steps to set paging, first I set it 1.5 of my physical ram (224) and kept the min and max values the same; then I set the max higher. Neither worked well

3) Tried to downlowad MS guided help, but my laptop says: not a valid .win32exe

I am desperate, I am not sure what else I should do?

Would it help if I reinstall Word 2007 on my windows XP? Would I not lose my files then? I even purchased the cable to transfer my old Samsung P28 (which was has always been a c**p compouter) to my new Toshiba which uses Vista but I am paralized since I always get the sign that Samsung has low virtual memory. Also in the daylight I can hardly see Samsung's screen , it is so dim. Please help!
