  1. make sure you are opening up your hips, timing the step right. and just lift weights to get everything stronger.

  2. well if you want to improve your swing first you have to listen to your coach if you really don't get it this is what you have to do...

1st you have to choose a perfect bat to use how you will know if that bat is perfect for you simple if you can hold it in your right hand at least 30 second then its perfect for you 2nd you must always know if you are holding the bat properly if you think its proper also your position, imagine that their is a pitcher in the mouth then he pitch the ball and if you think that its perfect to swing your bat then swing it

if it didn't work just practice because "PRACTICE MAKES PERFCT"

  3. Start small by hitting off the tee. First practice your swing in slow motion a couple of times until you're confident. Maybe even ask a friend how it looks, or videotape yourself. When your mechanics are perfect, start to speed up, fixing mechanics along the way. When you get to where you are swinging as hard as you would in a real game, with good mechanics, move on to a pitching machine, or batting practice pitcher. There's a great book on hitting called "The Art of Hitting .300" by Carl Lewis if you're interested.

  4. if ur good at the stuff u stated then the next part would be have to be keeping ur hands back, weight back, keeping ur head in, looking the ball all the way in, and of course working the count into a hitters situation followed by a good follow through. This really means when u take that step towards the pitcher do not lunge at all until u swing b/c keeping ur wieght back, having good bat speed, and finishing by getting ur hips through the zone quick can make any hitter have a good amount of natural power. physcologically the longer u can keep ur head looking at the ball the more contact. this also means u can hit the ball where its pitched better meaning if its an outside pitch u can of course take it to right and get a hit instead of trying to pull it and ground it over to short. and lastly work into hitters counts like 2-0 or 3-1 this will help u get a good pitch to hit. i also found that sometimes  taking the first strike or pitch can help u get deep into the count.

    anyway hopes this helps

  5. Go out and swing at least 10-100 perfect swings all the time. Video tape youself siwining if you can to see the mechanics. Work on forearm and wrist strength. IDK i think it was Ted Williams who squeeze a tennis ball to build forearm strength. Get strong core muscles. That could be easy as just doing some sit ups. Work on your legs. Maybe some squats. Remember Hitting starts with the legs and moves up. So work on your legs rotation of the hips. the core, the arm strength and upper body strength. Hand eye coordination.

    And just find the mechanics

Watch videos or do research of propper mechanics.

  6. go to the cages and film yourself, then watch it and break it down for yourself. its so much easier to fix things in your swing when you actually SEE it for yourself.

keep your weight back and try to keep your front leg locked when you swing

work on pitch recognition, and be able to understand what pitches are typically thrown in what situation.

get a bat that is perfect for you, who cares if its 2 inches shorter than what the rest of the team uses.
