When you hook your Iphone to itunes, you first need to make sure you have updated to the new software if you have the old iphone, the 2.0. Its free just selected update software when your iphone is selected. If you already have this or have the new 3G iphone then all you need to do is get on itunes and download the application then when your iphone is hooked up to your computer select your phone on the left side. Then the main phone screen should show up in the middle. Select the Applications tab and you can select which application you want on your Iphone or you can select all applications.
