How to install a kenwood stereo in a 2004 cadillac cts.?

Question

i dont want to get rid of the DIC because it gives info and it looks bad without it.

i dont want to use the metra installation kit.

do i hav to modify anything or is there a way to do it.

I'm sure it's the same with all GM vehicles, but the head unit is tied in to the amp which runs the radio, OnStar the door chimes etc...

I know you will have to get a special wire kit to compensate for this but I can't remember exactly what its called. But if you don't care about having OnStar or any of the door chimes you might be able to install it as you would any other head unit.

I looked into replacing the head unit in my Yukon and it isn't as easy when dealing with GM's systems.
