How to install an airconditoning system for an apartment type unit?

i bought a new ac system.. one that is attached through a big hole. how do i install it? should i just place it and keep it going? uhm i mean do i need to have specifics to install it?

you can just put through  the window. Most models now days are designed to fit through a double-hung window

Open the window, put the air condition there, close the window to hold/secure the air condition.

Need more info...is it intended to be permanent?  Does it hook up to the furnace?  Does it hang out the window?  Is it a portable model?

Check to see if there are any restrictions for hanging a Window Unit.  That will probably be the most cost-effective to install.  Where I live now, the HOA won't allow window mounted units...so I use a portable unit instead.

Home Depot or Lowe's are good resources...and you can run back to them if you run into problems.  Good luck.
