How to iron dress pants?

I can iron the bottom half of dress pants just fine. It's when i get the the upper half, where all the pockets are, that i s***w it all up. What are some tips and tricks do manage this?

  1. Make sure the zipper is open then place them on the narrow side of the ironing board, turn the pants inside- out,lift the pockets then press them, repeat with other side. it should be OK.


  2. look at the pockets inside the pants, if they are bunched up pull them out and iron them on ironing table. Once that is done button the pants and pull one side of the trouser fronts onto the narrow end of the ironing board, use the zipper as your guide as to getting on side of the trouser front on. Once there simply iron that side, slide pants back off and rotate to the next half, repeat for the rear of the pants. If there are pletes simply line the longer plete up with the front leg crease, hold plete down tight with one hand and iron over top of plete giving extra steam. You'll get the hang eventually
