How to join my spouse (studying at Swiss) for a year with our baby?

Is there anybody who can advise how to appeal for a longer stay at Switzerland so that my baby and I can accompany my hubby throughout his one year course in Swiss? I have applied for 1 yr visa but was only granted 180 days visa. Really worrying..as we really want to stay together as a family..

Scholars and students may be authorised to stay in Switzerland if:

the applicant is #  not # accompanied by other members of his/her family;

so that is one of the rule for being able to study in Switzerland

i understand you wish to stay together as a family.

but the Swiss gov. has made this rule for students.
