How to keep a gap between the gate and the post ?

I have a colourbond gate, one end to the post and the other end to the wall. After I installed for a while, the post start to stick to the gate. How can I keep a gap between the post and the gate?

  1. Sounds like the gate isn't secured properly for its weight.You need to strengthen the pivot point or add a hanger to the non pivot(to hold up the end) side or add a support roller to the non pivot side


  2. what i did is ran a support board from the top of the gate post to the wall and no more sagging.

  3. Either the gate is sagging or the hinges need to be readjusted. If it is in a damp location and there wasn't much clearance between the gate and post there could be swelling of the post causing it to bind.
