I have a picture I am trying to use as an avatar on a message board, but it has to be under 20 kb. When I get it to under 20 kb, it is way to small. How do I keep it a relatively good size but under 20 kb? I see some people on there with a picture that is like twice as big as mine and is like 8kb. How do they do that?

Here is the picture I am trying to do.

  1. Open it with MS Paint. Save it as .jpg/.jpeg file

  2. I'm trying to do it also with Pixresizer but still, I can't get a 20KB file size without getting small of the image. I used this software to reduced the size of the file but also, you still need to reduced the size of the image. I can even make a 3.0MB jpeg image to 100kb using this software with a size of 800 X 600.

So I conclude that the size of the picture what was being resized by some people are large enough(with a pixel of 1028X980 or something bigger) not like the picture you have given which has a pixel of only 317X475.

I would suggest getting a large image and resize it using the software. you can get it free at http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/...

    good luck!

  3. Well, I don't know about 20 kb, but try importing it into MS Paint and save it with as many different file types possible. One of them may be a good size.
