My puppy got spaded on Monday and they said we need to keep her calm for a week. Shes keeps running around and wanted to play and is acting like she hasn't had surgery. She is a VERY hyper puppy and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to keep her calm so she doesn't break her stitches.

  1. It's "spayed", not "spaded".

Keep her physically contained -- put her on a leash connected to you, even when in the house.  If you can't keep an eye on her, put her in a crate.

  2. If her stitches are still in place, you shouldn't worry too much. :)

  3. If you have the option to crate her, that would be best.  And, when she is not in the crate, keep her on a leash so you can control her activity.  She should only go outside on a leash so she doesn't go nuts and run all over the place.

One of our girls was the same way - wild as a buck after she got home.  Another of our girls got sick from the anesthesia and was very laid back for several days so she made it easy on us.
