  1. I have to smear Vaseline on the pole my feeder hangs on.  I also spray ant repellent around to base of the pole.  Always take the feeder down before spraying

  2. "The simplest and most effective way to rid yourself of ants at the hummingbird feeder, is to use an ant moat. An ant moat is a small cup-like device that hangs between your feeder and your hook. Fill it with water, and it creates a barrier to ants! Many manufacturers also make hummingbird feeders with ant moats built in. Take a look at the HummZinger and Hummerfest models."

  3. Wrap that sticky tape that catches flies around whatever is holding the birdfeeder up.

Basically surround the bird feeder with the sticky tape.

  4. Most feeders have a little reservoir at top which is meant to fill up with water to keep ants from reaching the nectar..they usually drown in the water.  If you feeder does not have this..you can purchase an ant guard here:

Also, I would not suggest sticky tape..the hummingbird itself might get stuck to it.  Vaseline should work as well as mentioned above and will not harm the birds.
