  1. Sounds like you are not 'pumping', but just bouncing your board around because you think it is a cool move. Ditch the move, and stick to real surfing. Save the pumping for when the wave slows down and or gets thick & mushy and you want to get further down the face of the new section.

  2. Not sure why your foot would get pulled back, (or which foot you're talking about), but it sounds like you either need to work on your balance or stay in the critical section of the wave where the speed is.

Keep your feet planted near the middle of the board, (not too far back), and bend your knees as you move up and down the face - it will feel like you're doing squats at the gym... this power from your legs will translate into the board...

To work on your balance get a balance board like an Indo board: http://www.beachtrading.com/balanceboard...

    Good luck!

  3. its all in the hips..... Hips don't lie

  4. just stick to football...PLEASE.

  5. If you already have enough speed why are you having to pump anyway?  The only reason to pump is to get water to "push" past your fins to pick up some speed to get to the next section when a wave is dying out.
