Question:

How to keep eyeliner from spreading?

I use a pencil/crayon... Covergirl "trublend" so it's decent quality. however after wearing it for even a hour or so it slowly begins to spread and wash to the corner of my eyes.. i realize SOME of this is natural especially if you put it too close to your eyes, but after a few hours it begins to look kinda bad...

one of my friends said that it works if you put just a little bit of eyeshadow below your eye and on the corner and it will keep it from spreading. i've only tryed this once but it was a terribley hot day (attending a graduation) so i wasn't surprised that it got messed up.... does this work? i don't wear eyeliner often so i haven't tried it again yet... other ways to stop it from spreading?

i only have dark brown eyeliner currently; black and bright (light if you apply only a bit) blue.. the blue would match, but would it work if i took a TINY bit of baby powder and rubbed that below my eye and the corners after applying the eye liner? i might try the blue too but white eyeshadow (which i currently don't have) helps make your eye look more awake when you only use a tiny amount...

thanks!!

  1. pencil liner always smears. i recommend Mebelline liquid waterproof eyeliner. It always stays put a never smears, but you can easily take it off with makeup remover or a wet washcloth at the end of the day. no hassal and easy to apply and remove. WILL NOT SMEAR DURING THE DAY OR IN THE POOL!

  2. Eyeliner/shadow spreads when you sweat, get wet, etc. It could be your mascara also. Try not to close your eyes much during the day, no matter how bored you are.

Baby poweder only works if you have an oily complexion. Try using a dark eyeliner, but apply it LIGHTLY and then apply the same color shadow over it, but do so LIGHTLY. What you do is dab some water on a Q-tip (or your shadow applicator) and then run it through your shadow and then LIGHTY trace the line of your eyeliner with the shadow. This will make a more bold color, and it will also help keep the eyeliner in place.

Not white, but a soft cream, beige colour in the inner corners of your eye (near your nose) help widen eyes and make you look more awake.

**Try not to cake on your liner.

    1) it looks bad

    2) it smudges easliy

  3. Some places carry a "primer" for before you put your makeup on.

    I use that.

If I don't have that I put a little bit of powder below and above my eyeliner, It stays a little better but not the entire day.

Hope I was of some help
