I already use a primer and a powder to set my foundation.

Ive tried switching foundations(many times) but it still starts to fade off my skin about two hours after I put it on. Please help.

Thanks.

  1. try good stay on foundations...and of course MAC is making very good foundations give them a try..and also try maybelline superstay silky foundation it works great...

  2. i would try a new primer.

and.. wash your face before you apply makeup.

like ten min. before with water.

  3. Try the Covergirl TruBlend foundation.

  4. What kind of primer do you use?

It all depends on that. There are two primers that i would suggest.

The first one would be from MAC. If you go on the MAC website you will see all of the ones they have. I got my makeup done for prom two years ago and the girl used a MAC one and my makeup stayed on all night.

The other thing i would suggest to you is Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer. I've used that many times and it works really well. I am an aspiring makeup artist and I use this on myself and many of my clients.

  5. If you are already using a primer and loose powder to set the makeup, I am guessing maybe you are using a very light coverage foundation. Try something with a bit more coverage, all medium coverage foundations are not cakey/clown like. Here are a few really nice ones from different price points that I have tried:

    1. Cover Girl Advance Radiance (About $10)

    2. Chanel Teint Innocence (About $40)

    3. L'Oreal Cashmere Perfect (About $12)

They give really long lasting coverage- I put my foundation on at about 6:30am before work, and it lasts all day until after 6 at night. I hope this helps you! :-)
