I straighten my hair because its not curly but its not wavy so i basically hate it. But i'm a medical assisting student and have to wear my hair up when i'm in my scrubs. How can I keep my hair pin staright without getting the wave because it gets a little wavy or also the wave from having it tied up?

  1. chemically straightened!!

well this may be a bit extreme to you, but for me, this is honestly the only thing that really worked (i usually have very frizzy/curly hair)

i went to a hair dresser last october, it cost AU$180, and the ends are still straight. even though my hair has grown out a lot since then, its still really straight, and the top bits are only a little wavy-if at all. when i do need to straighten it, it only takes 5 minutes- and my hair is definitely past shoulder length- so that's a really good time!

p.s. chemically straightening means that even when it's wet, it still stays straight. even now for me, when i put my hair up, then take it out, the hair goes back to straight within about 3 mins.

  2. I use a blow dryer and flat iron and when I need to put it up I use claw clips. The clips let you twist your hair and keep it in place but without all the pressure of an elastic. If you HAVE to use an elastic, do a very low ponytail against your neck. It will keep the hair back but because it's resting on your neck you don't need to tighten it as much.

  3. Here are the steps to getting perfect straight hair and last for a long time.

    Materials:

Garnier Fruitis Anti-Humidity Sleek and Shine Styling Cream

    Garnier Fruitis Anti-Humidity Hairspray

    Curling Brush

    Blow Dryer

    Flat Iron (optional)

After showering and shampoo and conditioning, and toweling dry your hair, apply Garnier Fruitis Anti-Humidity Sleek and Shine Styling Cream. Then use the blow dryer to kind of dry your hair. Then use the blow dryer and the curling brush to straighten hair. You can get step by step videos on youtube.com. When your done, let it cool for a couple of minutes. Then, you can use your flat iron the for touch ups, but that optional. Lastly, apply Garnier Fruitis Anti-Humidity Hairspray.

  4. My favorite product is John Frieda's Heat Therapy Serum. First, apply it to wet hair then blow dry. Then straighten it and you're ready to go -- with straight hair for the whole day!

Here's some reviews of John Fried'a serum if you want to know more:
