  1. you start at even and then if you par you stay at even, if you biridi you go -1 par and if you eagle you go -2 under par. And if you bogey you go +1 over par

  2. Holes in golf are either par 3, par 4, or par 5(It's rare, but you'll see a par 6).  So if you score a par 3 on a par 3, your score is par or even.  If you score 2 on a par 3, that is a birdie or 1 under par.  Anything over par is a bogey.  So if you score a 6 on a par 4, it's a double bogey.  An eagle is 2 under par.  It's called an ace or hole-in-one on a par 3.  There is a double eagle which normally occurs on par 5's and that would be 3 under par.  It can occur on a par 4, but not near as often.

  3. ther are 3 types of holes in golf

    par 3's, par 4's, par 5's,

has to do with length - par 5's are longest.

the 5 means teh right number of strokes for that hole, so if you score a 5 you got a par, if you score a 6 its a bogie, and if you get one less than 5 you score a birdie. 2 less than par is an eagle

  4. Birdie is one under par.  Eagle is two under par.

  5. Golf scoring is simply a matter of counting how many times you hit the golf ball until it goes into the cup.  if you hit it 5 times you mark five if 1 you enter that, if you get 11 that is marked. Golf course set a specific number of times that they think it should take to complete each hole. or section of the course. from 3 to 5 times.  the length of the whole course determines the number for each hole.  some courses are 3000 yards and others are over 7000 yards the lower the total length the more par 3's are there. while longer courses have longer holes.  Ladies and juniors drive from different tee spots and the course is shorter regarding yards but the par per hole is the same.  Birdies, eagles etc are just terms for sinking the ball in fewer hits than the hole shows. but is not used in score keeping.  Also final scores are adjusted according to your handicap rating... the following sites will help with the terms and general golf information

  6. And par should come w/ the hole...

  7. The scoring system in golf goes like this:

An eagle is two shots under par on a hole; for example, if you make a 3 on a par 5, that is an eagle or -2 or 2 under par.

A birdie is 1 under par on a hole.

A par is to use the exact number of shots on a hole: example 4 shots on a par 4.

A bogey is to shoot one over the par for a hole: for example shooting a 5 on a par 4.

A double bogey is 2 shots over par on a hole.

Beyond that, you don't want to know, lol.
