  1. i used to live in an apartment with my family and we used to get ants for some weird reason. spray doesnt really work cuz it drifts away with the air and it wears out from the spot. but powder (insect killer powder) is great. u leave it in the spot where the ants are and around it then after a couple of days they are gone. its better than bringing people to do the work and then u have to pay them so much money. its better to use powder.

  2. I suggest you seek for a help those who are professionals. Like for a pest control company, wherein they will survey the area of your concern and give you appropriate suggestions on how they will treat those ants. you need not to do those instant killing yourself. Let the professional pest control office handle it. Needs ASAP treat, consider your pregnant wife upon necessary treatment.

  3. IF they are EVERYWHERE then you need a professional to come and deal with the problem.

  4. Taro is a good treatment. It's a thick liquid you put in different places, to bait the ants, and it kills them very efficiently. The only thing is that if you have children, you don't want to use it anywhere they can get to it. Also, is the weather rainy or are you expecting storms? They may just be getting worse for a short time.

  5. get raid ant killer spray. after you spray them, wipe the surfaces and floors and clean them so that you get rid of some chemicals. or you can just hire one of those ant killer people if you're willing to spend that kinda money. but i mean hey, your wife is pregnant so isn't the safer the better?

  6. clean the sugar, and vacuum them.. you have a wife?!

  7. You cannot use insect killer, can you?

Then there are these insect killers in squares which is smell-free. You can put them around your house and kill the ants.

  8. Use ants spray or baby powder can work. That way they can't breathe easily

  9. Use Raid Double Control Ant Baits. I'm serious this will WORK! I've had huge ant problems in my house and this will solve it for you. GOod thing is you won't have to spray the nasty smelling spray all over the house. This works like a charm. Put the baits where ants are most. After a while you'll see swarms of them pouring into the baits. LET them do that. In a few days they'll all be dead.

  10. If poss try and find the nest. You can by ant killer which you put in a jam lid this works well. They don't like white viniger mix with water in a spray bottle. Good luck if it's really bad get in pest controll

  11. There is a spray out on the market now that is Eco-Friendly.  The name of the brand is EcoSmart and it uses prganic plant oils from plants like:  peppermint oil, rosemary oil, wintergreen oil and more.  I bought a can of this stuff the other day because we have a BAD sugar ant problem and one spray and that was it.  If you do get this, be sure your room is well ventialted because although its not toxic (like Raid, etc) the Wintergreen oil dominates.

Since its organic, it shouldnt cause any problems for your pregnant wife.  See the PDF file link below and it gives a better description of the product.

You should be able to pick it up at your local Wal-Mart, thats where I got mine...

Cheaper than a pest control company!!!!!

  12. a shoe!

  13. Use a mix of cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle it here and there. The ants will come and pick up the sugar, along with the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can’t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not being able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her.

  14. cayenne pepper works and is not toxic to pets or people, just hot if you get it in your eyes or mouth

  15. There are ant traps at hardware stores like Home Depot and Menards. Those would clear up the ants. Hope I helped and good luck!

  16. i had the same problem call an exterminator he will take about 40 bucks but it will be gone forever  and your wife wont be in harm either

  17. First of all, cayenne pepper, grits, bay leaves, cinnamon and other Druid-style home-remedies don't work. You can not cure your ant problem with them. Ants don't eat solid food and whatever barrier you set up against them will just encourage them to go around it.

Since it's a townhome, you may have some serious problems curing the ants. Your neighbors could be the ones feeding ants into your home on accident.

A professional will need to come out and cure the problem. Yes, ants can be 100% cured. Then with regular follow-up treatments, ants can be 100% prevented.

As for your bride: So long as the technician who comes to spray does not use an aerosol, emusifyable concentrate, cypermethrin, dursban or ficam, she'll be just fine. If you're still not certain, demand a copy of the MSDS and Label and read about the products they will use.

In the Label look at DIRECTIONS FOR USE. Make sure homes are listed as a place it can be used.

In the MSDS look at section 11, TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION and make sure the dermal ld50 is at least 1500 mg/kg. CARCINOGENICITY should be either not listed or not a hazard.

    Good luck to you.

  18. If you find a trail of them in your house, or some "scouts" looking for food so they can bring the rest of their nest to enjoy it, just sprinkle some baby powder on the ants and wherever they are coming in from, if you can find it, and you will see them begin to get upset. soon enough, they'll be gone, and they won't be back again for awhile, even after you remove the powder.

If they are everywhere then try putting the powder in doorways and the cupboard because you said they like getting into your clothes.

you could place small amounts on the floor around you home, they are afraid to walk on it and they also smell it and run away.

if you put the powder on the floor they will soon get the message that they aren't welcome to infest your home.

they should leave and if they try to come back they'll just smell the powder and leave.

    Hope that help's!!!!
