If possible I would like to kill them in a organic way, if there is not, then will have to look at all options.

  1. HIT THEM.

  2. You can purchase Japanese Beetle traps at stores such as Lowes and Home Depot. The trap has a pheromone in it that attracts the beetles and then traps them. While it is not strictly organic as the pheromone is created by man, you don't have to spray anything on the tree itself so their is that.

  3. Diatomacious Earth and Surround (a spray made with kaolin clay) sprayed on your fruit trees is fairly effective. gathering them into plastic bags in the morning and eveing when they are not active and drowning them in soapy water is fairly effective.

Long term solutions that are very effective include milky spore (which takes 3 to 5 years to kick in but lasts 15 to 25 years once it is active) and beneficial nematodes which work immediately but need to be reapplied about once a year. These work well togethe. Both kill the grubs in the soil. http://www.buglogical.com is an excellent company for nematodes.

Pesticides will not work well and will kill off all the beneficial predator insects that are eating some of the JB populations in your yard eco-system.
