  1. is it Wi-Fi enabled? you can do a search to see. you might want to make it a secure connection if it has a wireless router.

i occasionally check my wi-fi system with my lap-top.  i can do a search and see what networks are up and which are secured on my laptop (i live in an 18 unit condo and can find up to 7 networks active at once) the new ones that pop up are not secure, but sooner or later they go secure.

i used to pirate wi-fi on my laptop when i first got it, along with my wife. we hadda get cable when they went secure. and a few days after i got cable, i made mine secure. 33.6K dial-up sucks  LOL!

  2. If u r using the server side:

May be the server is in the domain or in the workgroup, U just go to the command prompt and type net view u can find the list of host connected with the server.. Or u type: arp -a u can also view the list of ip addresses which are connected with ur server...

If u r in the client system side: type: arp -a

  3. open My Network Places see the Local network then View Workgroup computers if you cannot see your system, goto my computer properties navigate to computer name then click change and type the workgroup name same as server's workgroup name

  4. you may know from your DHCP server their name and MAC Add. and also from your DNS server.... it depends on your server that which kinds of server do you use............
