How to know if I still have a stye on my eyelid?

I had a stye like last week. I'm not sure if I still have a stye right now, but my eyelid is a little raised up. My eyelid isn't itchy at all or anything. It doesn't hurt at all. Do I still have a stye? Can I wear my contacts?

  1. Does it feel like something is in your eye?

I would say not to wear your contacts for a while. Try the warm compress cold compress alternating between the two for 15 mins. Do you wear eye make up or share eye make up or something..Or maybe putting dirty hands in your eye? cut down on that and when you do wear eye makeup make sure to remove it.

I used to have a sty and it lasted for a long time! I was too afraid to get it popped but one day it went away. I just kept with the warm compress and stopped sleeping in my contacts.

  2. If you had a stye it sounds like it is almost better now.  A stye is actually caused by a bacteria, an infection, and you may need antibiotics to treat it, but sometimes it will go away on its own.  Soften the stye by applying a hot, moist compress several times a day for at lease 10 minutes at a time.

Whenever you are treating a stye, be very careful and resist the urge to pop or squeeze it! Do not rub your eyes because you can easily spread the infection to your other eye - that is unless you want a matching sett.  If your stye does not go away within a week see your doctor about getting antibiotics.
