I try to copy tape from camcorder to DVD using DV cable. But there is no signal being picked up by the DVD recorder. I use Monster wirefire cable that should be good for the transfer. I do not know if the two machines not being compatible or the cable problem? Can someone advice me how to check the compatibility of two machines or/and what cable should be used? Thanks

  1. Hi MIU,

Usually a camcorder has composite - Red White (sound) and yellow (video) output jacks. They should be plugged into the Red White Yellow on your DVD recorder.

  2. Check that your recorder is set to the correct channel to pick up the signal from the input socket. Your recorder menu will have an appropriate set of controls to do this.
