How to know your in a recession, I bet no economists will think of this

When the adds in the local paper such as this no longer appear.

A talk on ----- Football Club, given by M Murrach

200 euro each, Bar food and drink available at normal rates.

Not complaining that young Tom from number 28 told you everything that you paid your 200 euro for or 130 pounds for free and you hated him so much when he told you the same things over and over for four years under that tree on a very hot summers day.

Number of such adds since April in my local newspaper. (zero)

Number up to April at least two a month.

Is this really a sign of recession as I think?

Has your local paper had the same amount of such adds these last few months as before?

you are right - no economists thought that - at all

  if your neighbor looses his job it is a recession. if you loose your job it's a depression. simple isn't it.

Where i've really noticed the advertising cut-back is in our weekly property press - it's down to about 8 sides from an average of 60! Most of the adverts are for lettings not houses for sale. The weekly car sales pages on a friday night are also a lot less. Signs of the times in the UK but didn't realise it was affecting you so much in Ireland.
