I assume you are trying to install piers for a patio deck. First make a wood form for the actual pier that will fit the galvanized steel bracket for the post size you want to use. Dig a hole 18"x18"x18" minimum into the ground and place a 1/2" rebar in the center to almost to the height of the pier. Fill it with concrete. Then when it's semi-hard place your wood form for the pier on top center and fill it with concrete mix. Once the pier has cured, install the bracket using masonry screws. Then you're ready to install the pressure treated wood post for the deck.
