How to learn rocks blasting?

There are many books and articles on blasting technique.  Start with Peele's Handbook of Mining Engineering, it is in any good library.  Try the subject index on blasting techniques or google it.

To take advantage of the information in books and articles you will have to learn a bit about rock, how to identify them, how to describe them in the terms blasting uses.

If you really want to learn work with a road construction crew or a mining or quarrying company. Or enlist in the military.  Book knowledge is a good start but not enough.
