  1. try to find someone on the team or just a friend to play with you every day.  Work on ground stroke and serves

  2. Look here: http://tennis.com/yourgame/index.aspx

There is article and video instruction for strokes and serves.

    Also, http://tennis.com/media/video/instructio...

  3. Make sure that you have really strong ground strokes. Don't worry about spin until you have a great forehand and backhand.

  4. you can learn some very rudimentary basics on one month. i suggest you take at least one to two lessons a week, and practice literally every single day.

  5. The best way is to pay a tennis instructor a lot of money to teach you how to play, 8 hours a day for 31 days.  But obviously, that would put most of us in the poor house.  Getting private lessons is the BEST way to learn the game.  For kids who can't afford the lessons, go find a wall and hit it as often as you can.  Then when you're bored of the wall, grab a bucket/ hopper of balls, and practice your serve.  There is no short cut to learning the game.  You're going to have to practice a LOT, and if you had some help, in person, by an experienced player, it will help.  Just keep practicing, and use your first year to REALLY practice and get better.  Good luck!

  6. One lesson a week followed up by ball machine & or backboard 3-4 times a week!

PRACTICE THE SERVES....IT IS THE ONLY "FREE" SHOT IN TENNIS WHERE YOU GET 2 CHANCES!!

Tennis is a fine motor sport with gross motor movement!  You need a USPTA certified pro to help with technique and then practice on your own until you feel confident you can sustain a rally and consistently serve.

  7. Get a coach. Learn the basic techniques and then develop them. When I started I played against a wall!!! haha it sounds made but it improved my fitness and technique! Just gets lots of practice.

Oh yeah and watch tennis aswell I learned alot from watching Justine Henin when I was younger(even though I'm a boy!)
