How to learn welding in Maryland?

Question

I'm a student who works for the technical theater crew of our school.

Recently a welder left the team, and I feel as though having another welder would really help.

I'm wondering who I could contact or where I could go to learn the very basics of welding--and possibly get some assistance with improving my abilities once I learn them. We use an electric arc welder on steel rods.

.... you will have to joint a technical school for that,

some of them are dangerous in self learning.
