  1. If you want to learn other South Indian languages, you could try finding grammar books about those languages and memorizing vocabulary. You could also try conversing with native speakers when you feel comfortable about speaking the language.

Some languages that might interest you are Malayalam and Tamil. Those are fun.

    Good luck!

  2. By interacting with native people you can learn to speak, to write and read you need the assistance of study material, I managed to read Tamil (to some extent) by comparing the bill boards/advertising materials etc that are printed in both Tamil and English (by comparing each other) and to speak I was lucky to work with a group of people who knows and speak only Tamil, being Malayalam my mother tongue and the similarity with Tamil it was not that difficult task but I had problem to learn Telugu while working at Visag for few months and I learned only basic or commonly used words and phrases, such as getting a ticket in the buses, ordering food at hotels etc., what I found is that there are many words in Telugu and Malayalam having same meaning with the influence of Sanskrit in both. Kannada I never got a chance but again the Sanskrit factor is applicable to Kannada too and would not be that difficult to learn and only what I need is to Interact with Kannada speaking people.
