We have all done wrong things at some point in our lives. Some of us have let others down, others have betrayed people close to them, some have trusted the wrong person, others have loved the wrong person, some have brought shame on their families, others have said things which they never meant, some have regretted past actions, others have let themselves be used and manipulated. After all, we are all human and it is in our human nature to err. At times, we fear retributions for our past actions. How to let go of past mistakes, forgive ourselves and move on?

  1. Just forget the mistakes of the past and move on. we learn from our mistakes. Dont keep brooding over the past unpleasant deeds and think positively for the future. avoid

those mistakes and do the things which are right. No point in remembering and repenting. Life is ahead , one has to move on with positive outlook.

  2. usually wat i do is not think about it

    it sumtimes does

    nd then sumtimes doesnt work

but its hard to forgive ourselves even if the person we hurt forgave us

so u really cant let go....

  3. Amber,

See it this way. If you did not make mistakes you would be perfect, a diety, God. Perfection. I am not sure what religion you belong to, but if you ask God for forgiveness, He forgave you and forgot. If you continue to punish yourself, it is not God doing it, but you or the evil one whose only tool is deception. So move on. You WILL err again, all of us will. Ask for forgiveness, try to do better. One day, it will be the end and we won't err anymore. We will return to Perfection.

  4. When you realize that the past is the past and you can't change what has already been done.  Think of it as a big heavy anchor, chaining you to a moment in tme and preventing you from moving to a brighter future.  It's not about what you did, it's about what you can do.

As long as people LEARN from their mistakes, there is nothing wrong with moving forward.  Each moment is another chance to do better.  But being stuck in the "would have, could have, should have" is like a slow death to your destiny and purpose in life.

Alexander Graham Bell once said, "We often look so regretfully at the closed doors, that we miss the doors that are opened to us".   (ok so it's not quoted quite right...I have a bad memory, but you get the jist)
