Question:

How to level a spot in my yard?

I just moved into a new duplex and my yard is a little uneven. It starts off high near the house and slopes down to the road, which I like, but about half way there, there is a drop off of about a foot. I want to make it a smooth slope. The area is not very big at all (about 3 feet by 6 feet) where I would need to level it.

Do you think that I could just pull up the old grass and lay some dirt and sod over the top?

  1. Yes it just has to be packed down tight

  2. yes, make sure to pack it down

  3. You could dig aound it, to even it out. or you could put mulch, dirt, shaving, or stone in the ditch. You shouldn't pull up old grass becuase it would uneven things. You should plant grass seeds there instead. Plus you would lay the seeds on the top, they have a root system and therefore are shallow rooted
