My cat keeps pooping on the floor. His p**p has a smell of cat pee also. We have a female cat also.she's older

We have 3 litter boxes lined up for them in the basement. He poops on the first floor.

so basically I was wondering how can I litter train him? Or relitter train him?

  1. It's really simple  you put the cat box in good spot and then you put your cat in the litter box  me personally I think it would be better just to have one litter-box ..I have three cats two females[got the two girl cats at the same time] and a male [we got him a few years later] they  all share one littter box  and there just  fine I think your   cat might be  a little confused .. cats are very picky so Good luck.!

  2. Place your kitten in its litter about every hour to see if it needs the toilet, and if i does, praise it by tickling it, giving it treats, so on, so they get used to it.

    Good Luckk

  3. If he was using the litter box and then stopped it may be because he is sick or his stomach is bothering him. Every time he poops on the floor pick him up immediately and put him in the litter box. Take his paw and physically make him dig in the box, that should re-litter train him. If the problem persists I would definitely bring him to the vet. It could be a sign of a more serious problem.

(any new cats in the house using the litter box may also deter him from using it...or if its not as clean as he would like)

I have a cat that won't use the box after the other cat goes in it. Quite the picky little guy ;)

Good luck. Hope his health is okay.

  4. well it would be different if the cat was brand new because as soon as you get the cat the first thing you do is put them in their litter box then they know that is where they go to the bathroom. But to " re litter " train them i recommend bringing one of the litter boxes upstairs and maybe setting him in it once or maybe even more until he gets the hint that that is where he is supposed to use the bathroom at.

  5. Every hour or so put the kitten in the litter box. Cats have a natrual instinct to to in the box.

  6. I've had many cats and all I've ever had to do was put down the litter box and show it to them.  Never had a problem after that.
