Hi, my name's Cody, and I'm working with the Windows Vista Outreach Team to help answer questions users have about their copies of Vista.  Some of the other answers were right, the easiest way to keep your desktop from being changed would be to set up separate user accounts for each individual using your computer.  Here's a link that gives you step-by-step instructions on how to set up these different accounts:  http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows...

Hopefully, this should keep your desktop looking exactly like you like it, no matter how many people use your PC.  Let me know if this is helpful, or if there is anything else I can do!

    Thanks,

    Cody

  3. In Vista go to the run prompt and type in gpedit.msc

Once it opens go into User Configuration and then Administration then Desktop and you should be able to find your settings there.
