  1. ask other moms for goods and bads chack out webs to find out goods and bads on your area kids centers to get a well informed choice

  2. NAEYC accredited childcare centers are the best of the best. They really have to go through a lot to get accredited.

Here's a link to search for those in your area:

Then you might do a search for Montessori schools or Reggio Emilia schools in your area. These are also very good.

    Here are the Montessori Schools:

    Here are the Reggio schools:

Visit them all before you enroll your child. NAEYC offers a checklist of what to look for:

  3. see which ones got busted by public record, and bring them there...to get punished

(I soooooo love those vids where the nannys beat the kids, thats funny stuff.)

  4. Follow some of the directions given in the previous  answers.

Make a list of the centers that are closest to you then work your way out. How far are you willing to go to take your child to daycare? Do you want a daycare near your home or one near your work?

When you interview the center be sure you ask questions.

What is the staff to student ratio?  Take time to sit in a class that your child would be in.  Does the teacher have respect for the children? Do the children seem happy?  Watch and see how all the staff interacts with the children. What are their discipline methods?  Are there any children that are left off by themselves? What is their philosophy concerning the education and welfare of the children? Are they fed healthy lunches and snacks? Do they publish a menu every week?  Can they accommodate you if you call to say you will be 10 min late? Are they licensed by the state?

Remember, you are paying for a service so you need to know if this service is right for you and your child.

  5. you can always look in the newspaper because daycare poeple usually always post it  in the newspaper that they are looking for kids to babysit.also go to stores were their is bulletin board and look maybe somebody posted.

  6. i think it would be helpful to look in the phone book under daycare centers or just daycare.....try calling your local preschools and asking if they know of any good daycares....maby you know others who have taken their kids to a daycare...
