  3. Don't go straight into the 'Scene' thing just for middleschool. It's just another grade. I'm not gonna give you advice on this because it's a stupid *** question. Your only 12 years old. Be yourself! You'll be called a poser and will find yourself sitting alone at the lunchtable.

  9. The scene style is very cute! Very expressive.

For the clothes, skinny jeans are definitely key. I know Pacsun skinny jeans are VERY comfortable, and they go 2 for $55. If you want cheaper skinny jeans, you can get some at Wal-mart for $12. Also, Wet Seal and Forever 21 has some colored skinny jeans (like purple, red, teal, yellow, etc.), which are definitely REALLY cute and can be scene.

For shirts, I'd suggest vintage looking screen tees. You can find a lot of these at alloy.com, or Forever 21. You can also wear tunics, or things like that. There really isn't a "limit" to what you can wear for shirts, as long as you don't look like a "hollister-crazed american eagle wannabe". They key is to wear plenty of colors. Make a statement with what you're wearing; definitely don't tone it down. With your jewelry, wear plenty of different colored plastic beads, studded things, charms, plastic bands, hair ties, and other bracelets. Many "scene" people wear bracelets all the way up their forearms.

For make-up, eyeliner is a must. You don't have to drown your eyes out in black, but definitely consider using plenty of eyeliner. Also, colored eyeshadow looks really cute. Decorate your eyelids with pink, teal, red, yellow, purple, metallic or different colored eyeshadows; don't be afraid to use more than one color at a time. You don't need to wear lipstick or anything dramatic; a simple pink or clear lipgloss should do. If you feel you must wear blush, you could wear a light pink. It's not terribly scene to wear blush, though.

Lastly, the hair: the trademark of scenes. There are PLENTY of different scene styles. Depending on the style you have, you should style it differently. First, you probably need to straighten your hair. Any straightener will work; just make sure that all of your hair is about pin straight. Then, most scenes style their hair with teasing. The materials you need to tease your hair are: a teasing comb, hairspray, and a regular brush. Take about a 2 inch section of your hair, hold it in your hand, and dampen it with plenty of hairspray. Then, take the teasing comb, and brush from about the middle of your hair upwards towards the root. This will make it a bit poofy or sticking out at first. Then, take the hairspray, and spray it over your freshly teased hair. Continue to repeat the process around the top of your head, around the crown of your head, or wherever looks good. Use ample hairspray; spray before, during, and after you style your hair. Then, use the regular brush to tone down some of the teasing if it doesn't look right. REMEMBER NOT TO BRUSH YOUR HAIR STRAIGHT THROUGH NOW! It will ruin your teasing, and you'll have to redo the teasing.

Just experiment. There isn't a right or a wrong way to look "scene". It's all about expressing yourself how you want to. Just remember, don't try to be somebody you're not.
