how to lose size in a particular muscle group?

My trapezius muscle seem to overpower my other muscle groups.. i was wondering what i could do so that the muscle reduces in size.

If i stop working my traps out will i lose the size in this muscle group or should i stop eating enough protein and consume little calories as well so i could lose some size n my traps. what do you suggest i do?

  1. amateur bodybuilders like me and pros alike have the problem of balance to deal with constantly. i would drop trap exercises for a week then do lower reps after that until your remaining muscle catch up then do your normal routine. DO NOT EVER drop your cals.

    but i would rather you e-mail me your routine and split so i can break it down better for you so i can guide you on what to hit more to detract from your traps
