Question:

How to lose those last few pounds after baby??

I was fortunate enough to lose most of my baby weight very quickly. I am 5'5" and was 125 before I got pregnant and I was a whopping 163 the day I had my son. (I had pre-eclampsia so I guess a lot of the weight was fluid retention.) He was born 3 and 1/2 weeks ago and I am currently at 132 lbs and have been for the last week. I know my weight loss from the baby has stopped, so I am wondering how to lose those last 7 lbs?? I've never really had to work at my weight, so I don't know any good and safe ways to lose weight??

Any suggestions would be great as far as what to eat and what types of exercises to do??

I do know I'm not overweight at 132, but I would like to lose those last few pounds because some of my clothes don't fit just yet (they're close though) and I don't have the money to go buy a bunch of new clothes.

  1. Breastfeeding really helps a lot with that. Also, you can start doing mini-crunches in another couple of weeks. Lay flat on your back and lift your shoulders and head up to tighten your abs. Do this exercise for five minutes every morning and night. Hold for the length of a breath. This also helps re-close separated abdominal muscles which happens during pregnancy.

  2. Well, you sound like me.  I never had to work at losing weight.  After I had my daughter the weight dropped like a ton of bricks and then stopped when I was almost back to normal.  Try just a light work out, like walking for about 10 or 15 minutes a day.  and if you cook with butter, try "I can't believe it's not butter".  And drink alot of water.
