How to lose weight fast and easy?

I am 13 and i weigh 160. After losing 15-18 pounds of weight I gained 18-20 pounds. I need an easy way to lose weight that takes around 2-3 weeks or maybe even a month and a half. This time i will keep it off for sure. Any help will be appreciated.

  7. You have neglected to tell us what your height is. If you are about 5'10" (like my nephew who is the same age) this is not a bad weight to be.

    1) Avoid all fad diets that involve getting rid of an entire food group. As soon as you go off the diet, the pounds will return. Make this a change you can live with for the rest of your life.

    2) Drink lots of water.

    3) Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.

    4) At meals, use a smaller plate, so that the portions look larger.

    5) For snacks, go for fresh fruit or vegetables.

    6) Ask for your family's help in not bringing junk food into the house (if they do). On the grocery list, make sure you add any fruits or vegetables that you like so that the foods you like will be available at all times.

    7) Make your own lunch for school (if you don't already). This will help you to be happier with what you get at noon.

    8) Avoid fast foods. Most of them are high in calories and fat.

    9) Probably one of the most important ... exercise daily. Start off lightly and work up. Go for a walk after dinner instead of watching tv or after lunch instead of standing (sitting) around with your friends. Get a friend to go with you. It's more fun that way. Start with a few crunches and push ups in the morning and add a few more after a week. Then a few more, etc.

    This may not help you lose the weight in the time you want, but it will help you have a healthier life in the long run.

    Lastly, most teens gain a little weight and look pudgy just before a growth spurt. Please take this into account.

    Edit: I nearly forgot ... please, do not fast. If you do this frequently, your body will start to go into 'starvation mode' (according to my doctor) and your body will hoard what you eat, making it harder to use up the fat that you have already accumulated. Just like, if you go from no exercise to a heavy exercise routine -- your body will compensate, which is why it's important to ease into these things.

It's best to stick the the obvious with diet and exercise, and raise your metabolism rate. Your metabolism is the rate at which you burn calories. It's the best way if you want to lose weight in a steady, healthy pace.

    1. Eat small frequent meals: Having 4 to 6 small healthy meals a day instead of eating 3 big meals a day is a better way to stop going into 'starvation mode.' In 'starvation mode' your body will hold on to the calories it has until your next meal.  Don't extend the time between meals.

    2. Drink water. Remember the "8 by 8" rule? (drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day) This isn't necessarily healthy. The amount of water you drink each day depends on your age, height, and activity level. Divide your weight by two, this is the amount of ounces of water you'll need each day to maintain a healthy weight. <--That's a smart way to do it ;)

    Tips to increase your water intake:

    - Carry a bottle or container of water where ever you go, you'll get used to drinking water at hand, whenever you feel a bit thirsty.

    - Keep a glass of water next to you on your computer desk if you spend a long time on the computer. (like I do)

    - If you dislike the taste of water, you can always add some lemon or flavoring to your drink. Just avoid dissolvants high in sugar.

    3. Aerobic Exercise is the best way to lose weight and gain muscle quickly. This is simple! Aerobic exercise can be something like running, riding your bike, or going up a flight of stairs. Working out for only a half hour, 3 times a week is the recommended amount of exercise you should have.
